WWF’s Earth Hour Gets Boost from Space Station Astronaut

Tuesday, March 20th, 2012

If you consider yourself a lover of all things Earth, the environment, and/or space exploration, then this is an event you’ll want to check out.

On March 31, astronaut Andre Kuipers will be chatting live about Earth Hour and sharing what will likely be some stunning images of the globe. After all, Kuipers does have an amazing vantage point aboard the International Space Station . . .

The goal of Earth Hour is simple: to raise awareness of humanity’s impact upon the Earth and the need to preserve our environment for future generations.

By encouraging people to hit the switch, Earth Hour hopes people will get involved from the comfort of their own homes and businesses, not just at the official Earth Hour parties. To participate, all you have to do is switch off all unessential lights on March 31, 2012, from 8:30 to 9:30 PM. It’s that easy.

We see many Urthe Hours in our near future . . .

Check out Discovery News for details on Astronaut Kuipers’ Earth Hour chat.
